Scope note | |
Description | | Fruits are derived from many different kinds of perennial plants, trees and shrubs, usually cultivated. They consist mostly of the ripe, often sweet, succulent or pulpy developed plant ovary and its accessory parts, commonly and traditionally known as fruit.
Exposure to pesticides is dependent on the particular part of the fruit used for food. Fruits may be consumed whole, after the removal of the peel, or in part, and in the form of fresh, dried or processed products.
